The 9ths are an American songwriting duo comprising the experienced multi-instrumentalists and accomplished composers Dominic French and Max Macrides. Emanating from Boston, MA, the duo wrote to critical acclaim for many years and were twice runners-up at the international “Song of the Year” contest with the release of their 2009 and 2010 singles “Can’t Call It Love”, and “Put the Day on Hold” after signing with RDSD Music Publishing. Known for producing intelligently thoughtful and refreshingly good music, The 9ths, though specializing in R&B, Soul, Pop and Alternative, simply transcends genres with their soulful and rich signature sound.

Their 2022 self-titled, debut compilation album, “The 9THS”, features 14 tracks including 2 previously released singles along with songs such as “Crazy Like Me”, “Any Other Way”, “Worth It All”, and “Another Rainy Day in Boston”. Making their mark in the music world, The 9ths' unique musical backgrounds and enthralling diversity enable them to produce music, beats, and lyrics that emotionally connects with audiences and create memorable experiences in the hearts of listeners, Emmy award winning composer Randy Klein says, “they have an understanding of the style and how the music and lyric have to build. [They] also understand how you must give the ‘artist’ freedom to make the song soulful."

Influenced by artists like John Mayer, Sara Bareilles, Alicia Keys, Joss Stone, Paul Simon, and Adele, Dominic and Max have over the years established themselves within the music industry in varying aspects. A graduate of Berklee College of Music, Dominic French was band leader/music director in numerous popular local bands; he was the keyboardist in the renowned production of Black Nativity and his music compositions were performed by some of the region’s most prestigious groups including the Boston Saxophone Quartet. From bassist to drum tech to lyricist, Max Macrides’s experience with a variety of music genres like opera, theater, jazz, rock, and country among others, enveloped his fervent drive to constantly refine his craft. Poised to crest the pinnacle of their exceptional artistry and embellishing their flavorful songwriting essence, celebrated songwriter Jon Aldrich says, “They’ve got the gift! They’re a natural.”
